How to Install Skype in Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn)

  1. Open Terminal by pressing ^ Ctrl+ Alt+T and type or copy/paste following command line: sudo apt-get install libqt4-dbus libqt4-network libqt4-xml libasound2 and hit Enter.

    2.When it asks for your password, write it and press Enter.

    3.When you are done downloading the dependency packages, copy/paste the following command in the terminal:

    4.When that's finished downloading, copy/paste the following command to the terminal: sudo dpkg -i getskype-* and hit Enter.

    5.Now copy/paste the following command to the terminal to finish installing: sudo apt-get -f install and hit Enter.

    6.After Skype is installed, close your Terminal.

    7.To run Skype, press your Winwindows key (or the key beside Alt) to open Dash and type 'skype' in the search bar.

    8.Read the Skype "End User License Agreement", choose your language and click on the 'I agree' button.

    9.Now you're ready to use Skype!
